GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS • Keep your work area clean and well lit. A dirty or unlit work area can lead to accidents. • Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, in the presence of flammable liquids, or in the presence of gas or dust. Power tools create sparks that may ignite the dust or fumes. • Keep children and bystanders away from your work area when operating power tools. If your attention is distracted, you may lose control of the tool. • The plug of the power tool must match the outlet. The plug must not be modified. Do not use adapters with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets reduce the risk of electric shock. • Keep power tools away from rain and moisture. Water entering the tool will increase the risk of electric shock. • When operating a power tool outdoors, always use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. The use of an extension cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock to the operator. • If you must use a power tool in a damp environment, use a residual current device (RCD). This reduces the risk of electric shock. • Watch what you are doing and use caution when operating a power tool. Never operate a power tool when you are tired or under the influence of medication/drugs or alcohol. One moment of inattention while operating a power tool can result in serious personal injury. • Wear suitable personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, safety glasses, dust masks when performing work that creates dust, and protective gloves when handling abrasive materials and when changing tools. • Remove any setting tools or wrenches before turning the power tool on. A tool or wrench left attached to a rotating part of the power tool can cause personal injury. • Wear suitable clothing, e.g. no loose jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from rotating parts. Loose jewelry, jewelry and long hair can get caught in rotating parts. • Always use a dust extraction hood. • Do not operate a power tool with a defective switch. A power tool that cannot be turned on or off is dangerous and requires repair. • Keep idle power tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or those who have not read these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous when used by inexperienced persons. • Check that the power tool and the tools are working properly before starting work. Never work with damaged or dull tools. • Have your power tool repaired by a qualified person only. Insist on original spare parts to ensure the safety of your power tool. • Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments or replacing components. Accidental starting of the power tool can result in accidents. • Set up the workbench properly before setting up the power tool. Safe setting up of the workbench is essential to prevent it from tipping over. • Secure the power tool to the base plate before using it. If the power tool comes off the base plate, you may lose control of it. • Place the base plate on a firm, level and horizontal surface. If the base plate can move or wobble, the power tool or the workpiece cannot be moved safely and steadily. • Do not overload the base plate and do not use it as a ladder or scaffolding. Overloading or standing on the base plate can shift the balance point of the base plate upwards, causing it to tip over. • Do not work on any materials other than wood or easily machinable plastics. Exception: It is also permissible to work on easily machinable metals (e.g. aluminium), but only with a jigsaw and a suitable saw blade. • Loose sticks, chips or similar residues must not be removed by hand from the area near the moving saw blade! • The device must comply with the DIN EN 60745-1 directive. Devices manufactured after 1994 must bear the CE mark. • Do not saw by hand without guidance; use a straight or angle guide. • Do not slow down the saw blade by pressing it from the side when the drive is switched off! • Use the tools only for their intended use. • Only use undamaged saw blades; The base of the blade body should not be thicker and the toothing of the blade should not be narrower than the thickness of the riving knife. • Carry out regular checks to ensure that all screws are tight! • Never use the workbench incorrectly or for purposes not intended for it! • Remove all unnecessary objects from the workbench. • Do not use the device for cutting firewood. • Do not use the device table for cutting logs. • The power tool should only be switched on and off with the safety switch. • Only use the switch clamp that is permanently in the “ON” position on the device switch. • Always use the push stick when working with small or narrow workpieces. • When not in use, hang the push stick in the holder provided (Fig. 8). • Always ensure that the two pivoting hinges supporting the table legs are properly seated with the safety bolts in the holes on the side and that the screws are tight (Figure 15.3). • Before starting work, always ensure that the hand-held circular saw, mitre saw or jigsaw is properly secured to the tool plate, the tool plate is securely in the slot of the tool table and the Allen key is attached for added safety (Figure 17.3). • Do not use the tool outdoors in the rain. • Check the maximum permissible workpiece dimensions (see Technical Data).
